Maturation.

Something has to give. In other words, as the Smartphone market continues maturing new phone app developers are facing the increasingly challenging task of attracting new users. Instead of the previous iterations, perhaps some sort of loyalty-model is in order whereas early adopters are granted certain user privileges as an incentive for being an alpha-customer versus the current (dominant) freemium in-app-purchases model?
