A Major Plunge!

Being sold for $5 million dollars after having been valued at roughly $2 billion (a few months ago) demonstrates just how challenging it has been to move this space past the nascent stage towards a wider (even niche application).

A Virtual Massacre.

In what appears to be a (sordid) first, hackers have raided World of Warcraft and have virtually (no pun intended) wiped out all of the characters inhabiting the cities therein.

Antenna-gate II?

Even when your company has the largest Market Capitalization – ever – they’re still not above reproach. However, Apple seems to be at it again with blaming consumers / end-users for the ‘purple haze’ (as it’s being called) with the new iPhone 5 camera.

The Self-organizing Computer Course.

Enclosed is an excellent TED Talk that presents an interesting take on what works and what could be called into question regarding the current state of institutionalized higher learning; the importance of failure and a medium for collaboration and harnessing some of the infinite human power (e.g., our collective intelligence; insight and wisdom).

Round ?

If at first you lose a lawsuit, file another one! This is exactly what Samsung did against Apple today… as their legal wrangling looks to be showing no signs of abating anytime soon.

Access Restored.

Iran’s claim that they inadvertently blocked Gmail / Google access (via wanting to maintain the blocking of YouTube that went into effect in 2009) seems a bit off… Perhaps the underlying issue is that many businesses / governmental agencies. etc. (within the nation) have become dependent upon their cloud-based services (and the ruling powers had not other choice but to capitulate?)
