Fighting Another Battle!?
Not satisfied with how a company potentially ripped off your firm’s mobile access capabilities (for one of their games?) Just sue them then which is what happened to Mojang (due to what looks like the latest in an ever-growing scope of lawsuits and patent litigation being filed).

Hack This!
Despite the frequency of cybercrime and the negative news that’s reported as a result, it is good to remember that people are actually caught for their wrong-doings (as is the case with a hacker who went after Amazon amongst other firms a few years ago).

Conversely…
Google’s fortunes were positive in their first post-Motorola quarter as the firm reported increases in both sales and profits… long-term, will that trend continue?

Nobody’s Immune.
Although today they posted their first-ever post-IPO quarterly loss (dating back to 1986!); all is not gloom-and-doom as the Microsoft looks to gain from the upcoming release of their latest OS (and the subsequent Corporate IT upgrades as well as consumer purchases). That said, what is not clear is the level of success for Windows 8 as this will be Redmond’s first major OS release in the Tablet / Smartphone era.

Does Pedigree = Success?
Yahoo! scored a major coup today. Whether or not this coup, their newest CEO’s credentials and (Google) pedigree translates into success is anyone’s guess. Nevertheless, with all the self-inflicted miscues (for how long now?) it’d be a really nice, feel-good story if she can marshall the firm’s resources and turn it around. Best of success!

Less is More.
With the growing demand for smaller tablets, the rumor-mill (which already was in effect) that Apple might want to get in on the action is churning. While the firm could capitalize on this space, it doesn’t seem likely (due to what could be termed as ‘indirect-cannibalizing’). In other words, why would the firm detract from a market that they already dominant? Granted, in all likelihood, Apple producing a smaller tablet might be analogous to when they produced their iPod Touch but as a ‘media consumption device’ the iPad still has no rival (so why dilute it?)
