The post-merger honeymoon (if there actually was one) was clearly short-lived due to the announcement of 4,000 job cuts today (as Motorola still struggles from years of inept growth, management and viable product releases).
Hopefully, by shifting their focus away from the lower-end of the mobile phone market, concentrating their R&D on fewer hardware efforts; and, further embedding Android as an OS, this once-proud leader / high-flyer will be able to make a (sustained) viable comeback.
