We’re No. 1!

China is projected to take a slim lead in 2012 Smartphone shipments (as mass adoption of said medium continues to explode in the PRC) over America this year; prior to widening this gap in the years to follow…

This news should come as no surprise. Nevertheless, what would be an even big story would be Chinese innovation around this entire market-segment… which has (as of yet) not shown marked signs of having taken hold… let alone being fostered (due to many factors including repressive governmental policies)…

A “Virtual’ Whiteout!

Recall how the advent of the PC was going to herald the ‘dawn of the paperless office’ (surely, everyone who has ever worked in any sort of office-setting knows how well that turned out!)

Well, now there just might be a reversal of said issue via a team that’s developed a way to ‘un-print’ paper (yes, that’s been previously printed on) in order to re-use it. For fans of the movie, ‘Office Space’ think of the reduced volume of ‘TPS Reports…’ “Right, I’m going to need you to… yeah…” amongst other (proper and/or perhaps improper) uses…

A (Potential) Public Flogging.

Election year politics, political-grandstanding and/or a bit of both? Whatever the case may be, summoning a legal representative (from Apple) might be a harbinger for a number of other Tech firms getting ‘taken to the woodshed too.’

A ‘New’ Group…

Proving that legal wrangling is not just the domain of the titans battling over Smartphone supremacy… Yahoo’s lawsuit against Facebook (and the timing of it) are either signaling: 1) Desperation. Or, 2) An aggressive approach to righting a ship that has been adrift for far too long…

Supply & Demand.

For those critics that panned the latest iPad… completely selling out all stock due to advance orders (prior to initial shipment) is an impressive feat! Of course, a critics’ job is to be just that, right?

An Impressive Debut!

If the pre-launch (US) sellout is a harbinger for the success of the latest iPad, Apple’s juggernaut looks to be showing no signs (at this juncture anyway) of abating…

Prognostication.

Prior to and now on the heels of Apple’s latest tablet (iteration) the pundits have / are all chiming in with their assessments; predictions and reviews, etc. That said, it’ll be interesting to see how this all sorts out a year from now… particularly, in light of how Cupertino has been defying the odds for quite some time now…

Serendipity?

Perhaps it’s just the aforementioned… perhaps otherwise? Whatever the case may be, it just seems a bit peculiar that on the day when the iPad 3 was launched that such an instrumental player in the PC-realm spoke candidly about being in a ‘post-PC era…’
