For all of the on-going reporting about patent litigation (within this space) one point is clear: Apple’s Tablet dominance in China is undeniable.

In the aftermath of the (widely-reported) hacking of a Wired Reporter’s iCloud passwords, Apple has suspended over-the-phone Apple ID password resetting. Fair enough.
Perhaps the origin of this entire mess goes back to the iCloud transition late last year… at that time, many end-users were complaining about Apple’s reset policy regarding passwords getting blocked after two incorrect attempts? Whatever the case may be, one point is worth mentioning, the entire Apple-end-to-end-all-inclusive-user-data-control-approach is showing continuing signs of bloatware akin to what Cupertino railed against Redmond doing for years. However, because Apple is doing it is somehow okay, right?

NASA gets the GOLD Medal for successfully traversing 352 million miles / 567 million kilometers and landing a probe the size of a compact car within their designated quadrant. In sum, WOW (putting it mildly!!!) Even the “Spiders From Mars” are astonished!

In one of this past week’s strangest bits of news – a man who wrote a program designed to assist people with purchasing tickets to events at the London Olympics has had said program blocked!? Sad but true…

As the Scorching Summer of 2012 burns on, one has to wonder: how soon is when? In other words, when will a coherent / unified push towards more fully utilizing alternative / technology energy resources actually begin? Before / after it is too late?

Apple is finding itself in a position that Steve Jobs’ would detest: having to publicly disclose inside secrets (regarding their on-going legal battle against Samsung) that has set the rumor and innuendo-spheres into a frenzy…

AMEX holding out from being a part of Google Wallet’s latest upgrade could be interpreted as: a) no partnership being established between the two firms; or, b) AMEX is potentially planning on launching their own mobile payment solution; c) security concerns over the actual transaction processing itself; d) perhaps something else entirely.
Whatever the case may be, on balance, America finds itself woefully behind in yet another consumer adoption / implementation area that the nation pioneered (technologically speaking) which is (in a word) inexcusable.

Samsung has (now) found itself on the hot seat in the ‘Court of Public Opinion’ regarding releasing documents (e.g., non-admissible evidence) in their on-going battle with Apple. Conversely, at the same time, Apple has also been accused of ‘letting their Smartphone lead slip’ via not releasing an iPhone 5 sooner… However, two points regarding that are worth noting: 1) how does a given firm’s leadership position slip when they command / own the core value-offering: applications by orders of magnitude? 2) Perhaps this is just part of their overall strategy: let the competition misstep and seize advantage via coming out looking like the good-guys (a hallmark move that Apple has used against Microsoft for how long now?)

Apple’s latest and greatest (of course) OS X Mountain Lion release has 4 million downloads and counting… which again just demonstrates the staying power of their products and loyal followers. Couple this with the rumored, redesigned September release of the iPhone and this looks to set the tone for what is shaping up to be a very strong second 1/2 of 2012 for them.
