The Next Generation…

Intel’s announcement of their next-generation of nano-processors is (potentially) a good sign on three fronts: one) they reportedly perform 20% better; two) they also supposedly use 20% less energy, and; three) with how fierce the competition has become for them they can / could certainly use another bonafide hit (which is obviously yet to be determined).

A $15.00 Website!?

In an era when / where high-tech is showing (almost) no boundaries this reality is clearly evident by North Korea’s purchase and use of a template (for their official governmental homepage) created by a Southern California Web Designer…

The Downward Spiral.

Hubris; slow response times; massive network outages; bad PR; a lack of innovation; missing market opportunities; being the early leader within the Corporate space… all of the aforementioned (and some not mentioned, etc.) Long story short: if the reports are true that RIM has hired outside firms as a part of their restructuring process the end of the firm as it was once known (including the reality that it may be forced to file bankruptcy) seems (inevitably) near.

Haunted By e-Waste!?

Another ‘discovery‘ has been made at the world’s largest e-Waste landfill aka China’s Electronic Waste Village. However, the culprits this time around might not be the West per se as much as Africa; Asia and the PRC itself (regarding what looks to be another challenge to a location that’s already under tremendous pressure).

Making Their Debut…

The first Intel-powered Smartphones are set to launch in India (with Lava: a local manufacturer / one of the fastest growing homegrown companies) next week. Given Intel’s laggard status (within this space); Motorola’s long-slide and Google’s desire to take-on Apple this is both a significant step and a potential metric for gauging how (the first two of these parties at a minimum) they might fair moving forward (presumably into other global markets).

Oracle’s Smartphone Failure

Google’s assertion: Oracle failed in smartphones… begs the question: how does the firm really feel? Clearly, the gloves are off as this battle looks to continue to heat-up period (and given all of the patent litigation that’s been going on within the entire Smartphone space this should come as no surprise).

That’s Gotta Hurt!

Do’h! With four major European Telecommunications Operators quote – unmoved by recent Nokia Smartphones – unquote perhaps no more thorough of a rebuke could be stated than this (as to why so many observers both inside and outside of the Mobile Industry are simply underwhelmed by their alliance with Microsoft!)

Tomahawk.

The latest and (disputably) the ‘greatest’ way to organize your music (and interconnect all of the divergent mediums for accessing a myriad of digital music services) is one that most end-users have in all probability never heard of…

Windows + iPad = ?

A seemingly inevitable question that it was only a matter of time before it’d be asked is / was: How can any given end-user run Windows on an iPad?

Said question begs the (perhaps obvious) answer: why would anyone want to do so? Okay, now that this is out of the way (believe it or not) as it now stands there are six (yes, 6) viable options for being able to do just that (currently available).
